Knowing Jesus - Mark 8

In a world constantly demanding signs and proof, this sermon from Mark 8 calls us back to the heart of true faith—surrender. We are reminded that God has already proven Himself faithful, yet like the disciples, we often forget His past provision and let fear, doubt, and cultural mindsets creep in. Jesus warns us to beware of the subtle “yeast” of prideful religion and self-serving culture, both of which distort our trust in Him. The true sign we need isn’t another miracle—it’s the cross. It’s Jesus Himself, the Bread of Life, who satisfies and sustains. In the tension between fear and faith, lack and abundance, Jesus invites us to remember, to trust, and to boldly confess, “You are the Christ.” This is the way of the cross. This is the way of surrender.
