Knowing Jesus - Mark 5
n this sermon from Mark 5, we explore what it means that Jesus has “all authority” — not as a distant display of power, but as the loving, personal authority of One who comes close to heal, restore, and set people free. We see Jesus cross cultural and spiritual boundaries to deliver a tormented man living among tombs, restore dignity and wholeness to a woman ostracized by disease, and raise a little girl from death itself. Through these three encounters, we discover that Christ’s authority isn’t about control or spectacle — it’s about compassion, relationship, and seeing every individual beyond their impossible situation. We’re reminded that Jesus still entrusts His authority to His followers today: to bring hope, healing, and life even amid suffering and unanswered prayers, knowing He walks with us and His love never fails.
