In every generation people are building something with their lives. We pursue careers, influence, security, and legacy, yet Genesis 4 reminds us that not everything we build actually lasts. Some lives are built around achievement apart from God, while others are built around devotion to Him. What we choose to build our lives around matters because it does not only shape our present but also the generations that follow after us.
